Silver did not even show one bit that he had acknowledged Beryl's kind gesture of returning his change even after he had been an absolute jerk. He just took the money and shoved it in his pocket along with the antidotes with that he turned his back once more to the lady not even murmuring a thanks.
He noted that Marina was contemplating what he had said and honestly he was losing his patience. She had not really given him the reply that he had desired from the comment he had said earlier. Silver just guessed that it was her cowardice that caused her not to reply. Who would want to battle any of these weak trainers anyway.
Silver's attitude had indeed repelled many 'friends' or better yet acquaintances.
Silver shuffled around uneasily as he turned his head to see the Ariados next to Beryl with it's poison barbs ready for attack. His eyes narrowed. This brought him back to the idea of not allowing the Pokemon to walk around freely in her shop.
"Control your Pokemon," he said as his eyes rested on Beryl's Ariados. "It should be something simple for a trainer. You are one are you not?"

"I was once something of the sort."
It was a little disheartening to realize that her gym had been long forgotten to many Pokemon trainers, and though both Silver and Marina seemed to be fairly young and new to the trade, and it was to be expected that they had never heard of it, it was still something of a slap to the face. Beryl's expression strained a little at the thought, and her demeanor seemed to become slightly less of the calm, kind one she'd been using.
The Ariados continued to hiss, lessened by his trainer's insistence, but still rather annoyed and defensive. Though now inching past his prime, slowly, he was still very much a capable creature. Still, he stuck near Beryl's side, only clicking when Silver addressed the older woman.
"However, this is an antidote shop. How else but poison-types themselves do you think poison would be countered?"
Hands on her hips now, in a sort of maternal anger. How Beryl made her antidotes was very simple; take the poison from any Pokemon with the right weaknesses or potency level, and reverse engineer it on a chemical basis. The actual process was less hi-tech than it sounded, and she'd long ago found that she was good at it.
That being said, the older woman now turned to Marina, acknowledging her earlier statement.
"He's never here for long, or often. Hardly a thing worth mentioning, and I didn't believe he'd come back any time soon."
And that was how she would continue to explain it, if Morty sent any other young trainers her way looking for Eusine.

"In case you hadn't noticed Silver, this is her shop!" Marina pouted, not at all pleased at the fact the red-haired boy was getting on Beryl for something like this. She knew he was rude to her, and Jimmy, and other trainers- and had always suspected that Silver was just mean in general, but...She'd never seen him act cross with an adult before. Particularly one whose shop he had stormed into. Perhaps he thought that since he'd paid money, it gave him the right to criticize her on whatever bugged him in the slightest...which was obviously a lot of things.
Marina tried to glare Silver down herself, though she couldn't manage such a thing anywhere near as well as the teen himself. Eventually, she just got tired of it and gave up, wondering how Silver could possibly be like this all the time. His face had to be frozen like that, or something.
But, she didn't need to say anything else. Beryl could stand up for herself, and did, delivering a dose of logic to Silver's disrespect. Hah! Good. Silver needed to be put in his place every now and then, even if this probably wouldn't be enough to deter his typical attitude for long.
"Oh, okay. " That was meant for Beryl, and her comment about Eusine. Well, she could see how that was true. It seemed like he was always running around, and whenever Suicune was concerned...well, obsessively focused.
Marina hummed thoughtfully to herself, rolling on the balls of her feet as she did. It was obvious she was considering something, and she was. Maybe she should head off for the mountain, but...she'd never been there before. All she really knew, was that it sat inbetween Ecruteak and Mahogany. Maybe Beryl knew about it then, given the close proximity?
"Say Beryl...I don't suppose you happen to know anything about Mt Mortar?"
Oh yes, she was thinking it. Thanks to Silver, for mentioning it, she supposed.

He crossed his arms uneasily. Silver was angered at how Beryl's reply had made him look ignorant. Not, that he had not already gotten a really bad reputation with others anyway. Silver just shook his head and glared back up at the older woman.
"Yes, but that does not meant that they can crawl around your shop freely...Keep them in the back or something," he said coldly as he then turned to Marina. "No one asked you!"
Silver felt that it was about his time to go. He had gotten enough information as he had desired and he was already feeling the tense air that he had brought into the shop. He searched through his pockets and took out a pokeball and without glancing back once walked out of the shop.
"Augh, they're all lost causes."
He had a sure negative way of thinking about things, but this was caused by the fact that he thought his thoughts and opinions were the right ones. He went over to a bench as he sent out his Sneasel from its pokeball.
It seemed to be suffering from poisoning and Silver quickly took one of the antidotes and injected the creature with it. Eventually it recovered and Silver did the same with his other pokemon.
((You don't have to follow Silver out there xDD I'll just bring him back in when you guys leave the shop :3))

"It's an alternate route to surfing to Mahogany and... a prime training spot, I believe?"
She was a little distract; Arach had hissed again and moved as if chasing Silver out of the shop as the boy left. The woman called the spider back with a quick click of her tongue, not at all unlike the clicking he'd produced earlier. Hissing lightly, the Ariados skittered back to her side, bumping against her leg again. Beryl sighed, pushing her hair back over her shoulder and looking at Marina again.
"I... I can't promise he'd still be there, but if you believe it's that important, I can accompany you."
Aster could mind the shop for her, once he got back. The boy had promised he would be later on that day, and it surely couldn't hurt to close for a short while and go along with Marina, could it? Besides, Beryl was curious about what was so pressing that it would drive a young trainer like this girl to hunt down the one who was usually hunting.
Sensing the mood of his trainer, perhaps, the large Ariados chittered loudly, showing an energy that was more like his younger self than his currently old body. The Spinarak in the attic, figuring from their sire's tone, that it was safe to come out, clicked and cooed along.

((lolol in true silver fashion, eh? xD poor guy, getting ganged up on by wimminz.)) ----
"What a jerk!" Marina huffed, but only after Silver had exited the shop with somewhat of a dark cloud over his head. No matter how many times she'd met or heard of Silver, she still just couldn't believe how arrogant and mean he continued to be. He was lucky none of her pokemon had been out, because unlike Beryl, Marina might have been more than just tempted to let her partners teach the boy a lesson.
"I'm sooo sorry about that guy Beryl," Marina apologized, shaking her head in disappointment and distaste. " I don't have a clue what his deal is, but I've met him before. And he's harassed my friends, too."
Marina glared at the door as an afterthought there, feeling quite a bit more bold in the glaring department ever since Silver had left. After feeling like she had done enough, she finally listened in on what Beryl had to say about the mountain just outside town.
Accompany her? Would she really?
"Only if it's not going to be a problem with your store."
Marina was excited. Adventures were fun, especially with companions. And, since caves were usually full of nasty, aggressive pokemon like zubats and Golbats, she figured a woman with experience in potions and mostly antidotes could come in handy. Plus, maybe Beryl had been there before.
"But it would be fun!"

"Oh, it won't be a problem at all. My son can mind it when he gets back."
Yes. Aster knew what to do in her absence, anything short of treating a severely injured Pokemon, and she could always get Crobat to fly her back quickly if that happened and he called her. Besides, it had been a while since she'd last gone on an 'adventure', and as much as Beryl had come to love Ecruteak... it would be nice to get out of the city for a short while.
Arach was becoming excited now, climbing the wall behind her and skittering into the attic quickly - presumably to check on his offspring - before clicking loudly and descending to the ground near the door. The journey would help keep Arach healthy, too, and up to par when it came to battling. The Ariados clicked and chittered loudly near the door, waiting for one of the women to open it.
"If you'd just let me grab a few things, then we can go."
Wouldn't that just be the worst, if they couldn't find Eusine and one of their Pokemon got badly injured?
(lol if Marina wants to wait for her outside with Arach, she'll just come out next post and then Silver can come back.)

(okies. x3)
---
"Oh, good!" This woman had a son who was old enough to watch her shop? That admission surprised Marina so much, she had to squint a little and take a better look at Beryl. She didn't look old enough to have a teenager, which Marina assumed her son was. But then, the young woman realized she didn't know what it took to run this business. For all she knew, Beryl's son was only six years old, and his mother had found a genius way to teach him how to tend to the shop. It crossed her mind to comment on how unbelievable she found it that Beryl had a child, but held back. Things that sounded like compliments to her could come across differently to others, and offending the other woman in any way was the absolute last thing Marina wanted to do.
Marina giggled, as she saw Beryl's Ariados react with obvious excitement. She watched him disappear into the attic briefly, hoping to catch a sight of those adorable little Spinarak again- though she didn't. Arach came out of the hole again, gave a loud click, and then headed for the door.
"Aw, you're sure eager!"
She couldn't help but smile, as the spider clicked loudly near the door. His enthusiasm was refreshing! It made her forget all about her troubles for the moment, and how rude Silver had been to her and her new friend.
"Sure thing, Beryl! I'll be waiting for you outside- I think your Ariados really wants out anyway."
Marina opened the door, allowing the spider the chance to scuttle out first, before walking out of the shop and waiting. Her gaze drifted toward the peak of Mount Mortar- which could be seen from town, and she took a deep breath. She'd never actually gone into the large caverns before, so this was going to be a first! But, it would also be adventure.
"This'll be fun!"
She sure hoped so. At the very least, coming back alive from the mountain would prove her point to Silver. Even if that point was only proven to herself, since Jimmy's rival had left already. As always.

Marina might not have said anything, but Beryl had caught something from her expression, and the look she gave her. The woman was used to it, and Aster was certainly too old to be her biological son, but she didn't think that really mattered, in the end. Goodness knew, there had been more... outrageous reactions to the fact she had a son, and so Beryl was happy to settle for quiet consideration.
"Oh, he must be excited to go on an adventure for the first time in years."
An almost off-hand remark, as the maroon haired woman consulted the inside of a cabinet, a bag already slung over her shoulder. Arach chirped, loudly, as he skittered out the door, immediately turning and climbing the outer walls to perch at the top of the roof, looking in each direction and clicking loudly. Apparently announcing his departure to any who cared to listen. A couple of the gym leader's ghosts rose out of the ground partway at this display, curious.
With that done, the Ariados gave one final, loud click, and came back down the wall, his long spider legs carrying his bulky body quite easily.
