((lol ignore the title. I'm bad at titles. ANYWHO, this thread is open to everyone and anyone who wants in. I'm using Madison for now, though who knows i might bring others in. I don't really have a plot. At all. So, if you guys have ideas on what direction to take things in, OFFER AWAY BABY. :D We can even move different places if need be, but.. IT STARTS IN GATEON PORT. if you're unfamiliar with that place, educate yourself: bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Gateon_Port As far as...events, I have no idea where to set this. You can cast your votes on whether it is after either of Cipher's defeats, or before. I'm fine with whatever.)) -----
So this was the Orre region, huh? It was a lot nicer than she'd expected. Madison had to admit, she'd had plenty of second thoughts on the ride over. Everything she'd heard about this forgotten little region on the boat hadn't exactly been flattering.
She had booked this trip in order to do some adventuring, also seeking powerful trainers and maybe even Colosseum matches of some kind. The sort of battles that rarely, if ever, happened in Hoenn. She had heard about large battle domes and exciting tournaments in Orre, a region she hadn't even known about until friends had passed their knowledge on. What she'd heard from them had intrigued her, and when Madison had discovered that there was a cruise line that ran out from her hometown of Lilycove to a coastal town in Orre, she'd jumped at the chance to go on a brand new adventure.
The boat ride itself had been wonderful. Pricey, but the room and treatment were well-worth it. Nothing had been wrong at first, until she'd gotten into conversations with some of the sailors that ran the ship. They were the ones who had put doubt in her mind, after telling her many things she'd found somewhat disturbing to her plans. According to them, Orre's wild pokemon population was scarce; some species nearly extinct in the small, arid region. They'd also indicated that there were absolutely no gyms, or elite. That the best tournament places were in the most dangerous towns, and, excluding a few jewels here and there, Orre was predominately desert and mountains. Just a giant sandpit with insurmountable, jagged peaks.
Adventurous as she was, the sailors had managed to make Orre seem like a monumental waste of her time. Which was a little unusual in itself, given the fact they had indicated that Orre was their home. What bothered her the most was that piece of information, because Madison had never heard anybody talk about their home like that before. Something either must have happened, or be happening. Maybe it was like Aqua and Magma back home, or the rockets in Kanto and Johto.
That was what she had thought initially, anyway. The second the boat had docked in a place called Gateon Port, Madison was starting to have doubts again. Only this time, they were about the credibility of the sailors that had told her these things. Thanks to them, Madison had expected nothing but sand and criminals to greet her. What she saw was, of course, incredibly different.
Gateon port was beautiful, it even managed to remind her of Lilycove. It was a port town much like where she'd grown up- the sea smell was here, and the weather was gorgeous. The temperature was somewhere in the mid seventies she presumed, with a nice breeze coming off the ocean. Perfect weather for her, definitely. Not too hot for the short, thin jacket she wore- but not too cold for her exposed midriff either.
"Ahhh. Wonderful!"
She shut her bright, blue eyes momentarily- inhaling the fresh, ocean air. Her energy was renewed; she felt her excitement coming to the surface. Pfft, what did those sailors know? They were probably just playing a prank on her or something. Madison huffed to herself, feeling stupid she'd fallen for it. This place was great! She could see nothing to suggest danger or boredom. People were out and about, and laughter and music wafted out of a building called 'Club Krabby'.
"Hmm. I bet Jade would love to enjoy this!"
All of her pokemon would, but she would let her usual mode of transportation out first. Jade was the most friendly around strangers, after all. After selecting the creature's pokeball, with a quick flick of the wrist, the twenty-year old had released her Flygon.
"Gon!"
The large Hoenn dragon cooed happily, stretching her body out and taking in the sights. She seemed pleased, and turned to face her tamer and nodded.
"Hah, I knew you'd like it!"
Jade lowered her head a little, and Madison patted it, before starting to walk around the port town- to get a better look. She wasn't sure what she wanted to do, really. Club Krabby seemed like a fun place, but soaking her feet in the ocean water on the beach would be fun as well. Then, there was the joy of meeting new people- perhaps getting into a battle. Maybe having a pokemon out with her would gain the interest of another trainer?
She just didn't know what to do! But then....that was part of the fun, wasn't it? Madison's lips parted in a smile, at the thought of adventure. Yup, sure was! Still, she did want some idea of things to do in Orre.
"Hmm...well, let's uh..look for a map or information center or something, shall we?"
Jade just followed behind her trainer, while Madison continued wandering through Gateon port- her expression very much one of a lost and confused tourist.
There had to be information somewhere!

Not too far away from Madison stood an equally as lost tourist. However, unlike the tough looking trainer, This girl didn't seem to mind. In fact it rather looked like the girl was enjoying herself. the trainer glanced around and put her hand on her pale blue hair smoothing it slightly.
"mmmmm...What a nice day!" the trainer, also known as Tori, commented to no one imparticular. Her free hand ran over her pokeballs which sat neatly at her belt. "So who should I call out first?" Tori commented as she grabbed for a decorated pokeball with seals. She smiled as she flicked her wrist calling out a beautiful white pokemon. The pokemon yawned and stretched out its wings, obviously happy to be free of the confined space of the poke ball.
"Zephwee!" The pokemon cooed happily.
Tori chuckled and moved the strand of fur covering her beloved zephyeon's eye and gently patted it's head.
"I thought you might like this!"
Zephyeon nodded it's head automatically and then jumped into the air showing off her beautiful wings and hovering just out of reach of her trainer.
"Hey now! No showing off!" Tori corrected and signaled for her energetic little pokemon to come down.
Obediently the pokemon came down and sat at Tori's feet glancing over at Madison's Flygon.
"ZEPHEEEEEEEE!" The pokemon called . It was obvious that the pokemon wanted to battle and it seemed to be set on battling the flygon, which proved to be much larger than she was.
Tori shook her head and began to walk over towards the tough looking trainer.
"Errr...excuse me?" Tori began, hoping to catch the trainers attention.

"Huh. No information center anywhere. Er..Maybe we're just looking in all the wrong places."
Madison sighed, and folded her arms against her chest as she thought about what to do now. Both she and the Hoenn dragon stopped their wandering, gaining a few stares here and there from people who weren't quite used to seeing such a large pokemon in the quiet, cozy port town. But, nobody ever gawked for long. Just a few seconds, and then they were on their way. Neither pokemon or trainer seemed to care that much. Madison was too focused at staring at the ground as if the solution lay somewhere in the cracks of the sidewalk, and the Flygon just beamed happily at anybody who looked at her; too gentle in nature to be anything other than docile outside of battle.
"Well..I suppose we could try looking from the air."
At the notion, the young woman looked up into the crystal-clear, cloudless blue sky. The weather was perfect for flying, so that really didn't sound like a bad idea. It might be nice to get an aerial view of the ocean...and the apparently endless stretch of desert that the sailors had told her about. But at the same time, it probably wasn't a good idea to take off into a desert if they had no idea where they were going. Flygon would be okay- their type was built for hostile climates. She, on the other hand would probably not. Deserts weren't the same as tropical climates, after all.
"Or...not."
Madison leaned against the green dragon and sighed. Maybe she should just go into one of the stores and ask. It wasn't that big of a deal if they insulted her for being a tourist. Why was she even bothered by the thought?
"Well Jade, I think.."
Her voice trailed off, as she heard somebody speaking to her. At least, she thought they were. Arching a brow, Madison turned- spotting another tough-looking female trainer with a pokemon she'd never seen before. Her blue eyes lit up in childish wonder as she stared at the Zephyeon, before finally registering that the other woman had seemed to want to ask her something.
"Yeah?"
Madison really wasn't sure what else to say. But, she was interested what the trainer wanted. Maybe she'd noticed how lost she looked and was here to help?

As Tori walked over to ask the trainer for a battle, she saw the girl take to the skies on her pokemon and whoosh through the clouds. Tori had to shield and squint her eyes just to try and see the trainer. She could easily tell that this trainer was very tough and would prove to be a challenge, especially since she was training a batch of new pokemon.
As the girl landed back on the ground, Tori took the opportunity to approach the her.
Tori smiled shyly at the tough trainer.
"That is one healthy and strong looking Flygon you have there." Tori said as she admired the flygon's healthy scales, " I'm sorry to bother you, but you looked to be lost and, where as I don't have a solution to the being lost issue, I was wondering if you would like to battle with my Zephyeon. She's been dying to battle someone and it looks like she is set on battling your Flygon."
She completely forgot to introduce herself, which was strange considering what position she held. The Zephyeon at Tori's feet twirled around and ran around Flygon in her always perky manner. It was just her way of saying hello, but some found it to be obnoxious. Fortunatley the, cute flying type soon stopped her running around and sat patiently at her owner's feet once again.
"If you win the battle I'll buy you lunch too!" Tori said as she began to feel the heat of the challenge take over her. She loved a good battle as did her pokemon.
"Zephweeon?"

"Gon!" Jade beamed at the comment, puffing herself up proudly. It had been a while since another trainer had the nerve to approach her, and the dragon hadn't understood what was so intimidating about her appearance that most people didn't. It disheartened the Hoenn dragon sometimes, simply because of how personable she was. Jade knew that bothered her tamer sometimes when she would run off and trying to be friendly to nearby trainers, which was why she had decided it best to allow them to make the first move. She was glad this other human was so warm and open- Jade liked her already.
"Well, thanks. I've tried to raise my team the best I can." Madison smirked a little at the comment, happy that it was another, tough-looking and friendly trainer she'd run into first. And not some snooty tourist-hating person, or..Arceus forbid, a coordinator. "Your pokemon looks pretty healthy and tough as well. What species is that?"
Even though she had been to Kanto once before, and seen basic eeveelutions, Madison was unaware that they could transform into so many types. This one appeared to be flying, if the wings were anything to go by, and she had never heard of that evolution before- but of course, there were no eeveelutions, and very few eevee in her home region, so she certainly knew very little on the matter.
At first, Madison was a little disappointed, when the other girl admitted that she didn't really know her way around either. Although, there was also some relief in that. At the very least, she wasn't alone in looking lost, and maybe the two of them could work together to find what they needed. The girl's next question, however, completely distracted Madison. Her lips parted in a smirk, and she felt her thirst for battle growing by the second. Oh, she'd been itching for a good fight on the boat ride over!
"A battle huh?"
Madison stroked her chin thoughtfully, and watched as Tori's pokemon ran excitedly around her Flygon. Jade just grinned at the small creature, and cooed back in welcome, finding the action adorable rather than annoying. When Zephyeon returned to Tori's side, Madison looked at Jade, who simply nodded.
"Certainly! We'd love to battle you. And hey, if you win, then I guess it's only fair that I buy you lunch. But, let me tell you, you'll have to earn it from me."
The heat was taking Madison over as well, as she slipped into her usual, elated sense of confidence. She frowned thoughtfully though, for a moment, as if forgetting something.
"Oh and, by the way, name's Madison. From the Hoenn region. What should I call you?"

Tori gave a bright smile at the chance to introduce her pokemon.
"This is my wonderful Zephyeon Sam! She evolved from eevee after I took my position as...."
Tori stopped momentarily realizing that she couldn't very well tell the trainer that she had been a gym leader and was now a famous frontier brain AND cordinator. She pondered what she do. Should she tell Madison about her position or should she fake being a normal trainer. Either path could possibly cause a problem.
"My name is Tori...pleased to meet you!" Tori fumbled.
her cerulean colored eyes fixated on her pokeballs at her waist and she gave an embarrassed look over at Madison.
"Is a five on five battle alright with you? I'm training a whole new batch of pokemon and right now I only have five. Substitutions will be allowed and it'll probably be a single match unless you say so otherwise."
Tori paused to give the tough looking Madison a chance to answer her question while she pondered another thing. If it ever arose that she was the frontier brain...would she share her secret of her "sucess". Truth be told the reason she was able to communicate with her pokemon so well was that she had begun to understand pokemon speech.
IT had taken her many years to finally be able to understand it, but now she was well on her way to completely understanding her pokemon.

"As what?" Madison blinked, finding it a little strange that the other girl had let her mind wander there, of all places. She wasn't sure whether the girl's attention was simply slipping from this part of the conversation and focusing on others, or if she had something to hide. Either way though, it didn't really matter, Madison supposed. She'd never seen this woman before, so anything she had to hide she wouldn't know anyway, and if her mind was just drifting a little too much, well, that was fine.
Finally though, she broke the awkward silence by sharing her name. Well, that was a start. Madison was interested in whatever it had been that Tori had stopped herself from saying, but...if it didn't pertain to battle, it was one of the lowest things on her list of priorities- as horrible as it sounded. She was more interested in seeing where Tori's skill lay, and to see how challenging she would be. Idle chitchat could come later, over lunch. Maybe she'd bring it up again there?
"Yeah, five is just fine with me. Let's hope your new team can make me need to use that many!"
Madison pursed her lips thoughtfully, following that arrogant statement. She was trying to determine whether she was okay with engaging in single battle or not. Commonly, she did multiple. Two, or three pokemon a turn. Having to deal with the complete chaos of battle, and still being forced to keep your head- was quite a rush. And it was often easy to create and use distractions that kept the enemy confounded.
However...Single battles could be interesting too, and it had been a while since she'd engaged in one. Plus, Tori's team was apparently new- so Madison felt the need to at least give her a fair chance.
"And I'm good to go with a single match too. And, you can probably guess who my first pokemon will be."
She nodded her head toward Jade, who gave a soft cry and flapped her wings in preparation. Madison turned and smirked at Tori.
"Ready to get this show on the road?"

Tori paused cursing slightly that Madison had caught her mistake.
"err...nothing never mind..."
As Madison shifted gears to taunting at Tori, Tori could feel the passion of battle erupt within her. Her smug smile emerged onto her face and her eyes regained their spark. She loved a good challenge and she could definatley tell that this trainer would give her one to look forward to.
"Oh ho Big words! Lets see if you can put your money where your mouth is! I've been a trainer for a long time and I have had more experiences than most. I'll show you just how tough we can be!"
Tori waved her Zephyeon back, much to Sam's dismay, and whipped out a nice black pokeball around waist. The pokeball was known as a luxry ball and the pokemon it contained was little more than lethal. However, Tori knew that since he was still wary about battle and he was often overkill, Tori placed the pokeball back at her side and pulled out a simple pokeball and tossed it into the air.
"Soul! SHOW THEM HOW YOU DANCE!"
When the light finally settled a tiny eevee appeared. It was obvious that the pokemon didn't look like much and true that he was farely new, Tori had trained him well in that time. Maybe he could beat the giant dragon. Maybe. The eevee however, did not have much faith in himself especially with beating a giant dragon such as Jade.
"vee...."
Tori shot her eevee a smile to encourage him and then returned her focus to Madison.
"Since you seem so sure you'll win I'll even let you start this battle off."
(You can let Jade pwn him. Soul is still an eevee at this point and whereas his speed and special attack are great, his special defense is awful. Just let him get some attacks in. Than maybe my Wyvreon can take Jade out.)

(replied to the pm about the battle. x3)
~~~~~~
"Haha, now which one of us is talking big? You don't look that much older than me, Tori! I doubt our experiences are too different. But, there's only one way to find out."
Madison grinned, fully enjoying every second of the arrogant pre-battle 'trash talk'. She lived for this sort of thing, really. She loved dishing it out, and it never really bothered her to hear other trainers do the same. If anything, it made that much more excited to engage in battle. From trainers like Tori, Madison expected a challenge. If Tori gave her anything less, then she'd be sorely disappointed.
She arched a dark brow, curiously, as Tori acted like she was ready to unleash her first pokemon- then immediately reconsidered. Hmm..Just what had been in that nice-looking pokeball anyway? Well, she'd get a chance to find out, Madison knew. She didn't intend on making this easy for Tori. She played to win.
Not too long after, Tori released her first pokemon on the field, and Madison couldn't help but chuckle. Was she serious? Either she was delusional, there was something special about this little guy, or Tori was sending out the weakest first in order to get the gist of her battle strategy. Whatever the reason was, it didn't matter that much. Madison just grinned.
"..Kind of a lightweight, isn't it?"
Jade lumbered forward, glancing down at the small pokemon before her. She didn't exactly like trying to cream pokemon so much smaller than she was....but, she couldn't hold back. The flygon growled, apologetic, knowing how harsh her tamer's style was.
"Well, if you want your first pokemon out that early, fine. Jade, faint attack!"
The flygon darted forward immediately, rushing to the eevee's right side. Once there, Jade gave a roar- and then vanished; reappearing on the left. Pausing only momentarily, the dragon lashed out with her tail- hoping to catch the eevee offguard long enough to knock it to the side.
As Madison shot back with a comment, Tori smiled darkly.
"We'll see. Don't let your guard down though. Cause you never know what direction this battle may take."
Truth be told Tori's entire purpose of her first selection was to test and observe Madison's battle style. Tori was known for being very strategic as well as being very versatile. She had already made a hypothosis on the trainer's battle style, but she wanted to confirm it within her mind. She knew that poor little Soul might not last long, but she knew full well that he was good enough to last long enough to scout out Madison's battle style.
Tori watched in awe as the large Hoenn dragon zoomed towards her eevee with an impressive faint attack. Tori smirked and let her eevee take the hit. She hated doing that, and she knew that with Soul's speed he could've possibly dodged the dark type attack, but she had a different idea.
"Soul! Now while Jade is close, jump on her back and hold on tight. Then as soon as you are on that Flygon's back I want you to give me a close range Hidden power!"
She knew that her hidden power was ice type because of a strange trainer that she had recently met and she knew that ice was super effective against dragon type. However, she also knew that since her eevee's normal attack wasn't as powerful as her other pokemon, and that it wouldn't do as much damage as she would like. She thought she would just see how the Hoenn dragon and her trainer reacted.
Well, the advice was true enough. Madison had heard it all, time and time again, and she knew it was always best to keep your guard up. However, she also enjoyed a rough approach to battle. She enjoyed meeting opposition with brute force, and pushing their defenses to the limit. Not that she was doing it here just yet, but oh...if Tori was as good as she seemed, they'd get there soon enough.
Her smirk grew wider, as the faint attack hit its mark- just as anticipated. The twenty-year old had been about to deliver another haughty remark, when it sunk in that Tori didn't seem bothered by the previous move in the least. Then, came the command. Oho, so she had a plan after all, did she? A clever move, at that. Madison wasn't certain what would come of a hidden power, but she did know that the eevee's small stature gave it an advantage here.
"Jade, try dragonbreath!"
It was too late. By the time she'd ordered the attack, the eevee had already hopped onto Jade's back, and there was no way the attack was going to hit. Madison frowned thoughtfully, trying to piece together a strategy.
"Fly!"
Another command that came late. The second her dragon had started to lift herself off the ground, she shut her eyes and cried out in pain- obviously being hit by the hidden power attack. Which, seemed to do a lot more damage than Madison had anticipated. The brunette's blue eyes narrowed further, in thought, as Jade fell to the ground from the shock of the move. Not down for the count yet, but more injured than either of them had expected.
"Hmm..Not bad, Tori. Not bad at all."
She granted her fellow tamer a brief smirk, before returning her attention to the battle at hand.
"Jade, new tactic. Get the eevee off your back, then use earthquake!"
Jade hissed, regaining her second wind, as she rolled to and fro- trying to roll herself over the eevee in hopes her body weight would knock it off. Once she'd rolled a few times, she shoved herself off the ground and started an earthquake- hoping the eevee had fallen off.
Tori dipped her head in respect to Madison and smiled as the "compliment" was given.
"Well thank you very much! But I'm no where near finished."
Tori smiled as her eevee hit his mark with his attack. She was about to congradulate her eevee when Madison's dragon began to roll around with Soul still clinging on tightly. The poor small eevee was crushed under the great dragon's weight and immediatley released his grip on the Hoenn Dragon.
Soul hissed slightly as he got to his feet, only to have the ground under him break and crack due to Jade's expertly executed move. The earthquake shook beneath Soul's feet and shook him violently, but somehow he managed to hang on. However, it was blatantly obvious that the earthquake and faint attack were already taking there toll on the eevee.
Tori gritted her teeth as she thought of her next strategy. She knew full well that her eevee could not win against such a hich leveled opponent such as Jade. She knew that she had to test out Madison's battle style and pull out this first match if she wanted a chance to win.
"Soul! Jump as high as you can and then see if you can pull off a shadow ball!"
Tori knew that it would be difficult to hit a moving target, and an aerial one at that, but she knew that she had to test this Flygon's ability to dodge and stuff.
"I'd hope not!" Madison retorted. "I'd be disappointed if you went down that easily." Certainly, winning was one of Madison's favorite things. But, if her opponent didn't put up much of a fight, victory didn't feel quite as wonderful. She and her pokemon wouldn't grow at all, if things were too simple. Losing was frustrating as well, but at least it was tolerable- and something they could learn from and use to improve, if the opponent was skilled.
The young woman assumed a haughty pose, placing both hands on her hips, as the new strategy appeared to be working. Soul had fallen off Jade's back just as planned, and had taken the earthquake too. Except, she'd had a pretty different idea of how things would work following that particular attack.
"Huh.."
Madison didn't alter her pose in the slightest, although her eyes betrayed a sense of surprise that Tori's eevee was still standing. Well, the thing had a lot more guts than she gave it credit for, she supposed. Tori wasted no time taking advantage of this, though.
"Jade, use dragonbreath on the shadow ball!"
The Flygon was able to successfully avoid the first one, due to the dragonbreath, but the eevee was quick; faster than the larger dragon. Jade didn't have much time to celebrate at all, before Soul fired more shots- most of them hitting their marks this time. Jade stumbled backwards, roaring in pain, as multiple shadowballs pounded into her body, sapping her hp even more.
"Jade, quick, fly! They'll be easier to dodge in the air!"
The dragon managed to pull herself together long enough to take to the air- where she had the advantage.
"Now, Dragonbreath!"
Two could play at this game. Jade opened her mouth wide, gathering energy, before firing a crackling burst of energy down at Soul. Now, it was Madison's turn to see just how quick the eevee was in situations like this. She anticipated it would be pretty speedy, which was why she had a plan here..and hoped she'd get the chance to see it in action.
Tori kept her poker face up, until Jade launched her dragon breath attack, but even then the corners of her mouth only dipped slightly. She knew full well that with all the damage Soul had already taken from the higher level Flygon that he was down to his last bit of strength. She knew that her tests had proven that with a high speed pokemon she could take down the large behemoth and possible win the match.
The dragonbreath attack hurtled down towards Soul who was glancing at Tori for orders.
"SOUL! SEE IF YOU CAN OUT RUN THE ATTACK!"
Tori was making it seem as if she did this out of desperation and perhaps this victory would give Madison overconfidence, a strategy that worked on many of her "victims". Soul was trying his best to dodge the attack, but the cracks from the previous earthquake attack had left the battle area a mess. Sould tripped on the concrete pavement and fell down, which unfortuantley meant he was soon engulfed in Jade's dragonbreath attack.
Soul let out a pathetic wail of pain before fainting. Tori frowned slightly feeling guilty about using Soul as a scout, but she knew that this would give her a large advantage in the rounds to come.
"Wow...you guys did such a great job! Alright Soul you need to take five. Thanks for your hard work."
Tori recalled the passed out eevee into his pokeball and then reattached it to her belt.
"Well that was certainly a facinating first round. Let's see how you fair against this one."
Tori grabbed a dark purple and green pokeball, comonly known as a dusk ball, and flicked it into the air. The seals on the pokeball sent out sparks of flame which enveloped the pokemon.
"Say hello to Drake my Wyvreon!"
Tori smirked as the flames dispersed revealing a dark crimson red eeveelution with large dragon wings. The pokemon glaned at his surrounding before acessing the situation. Casually he walked over towards Jade signaling that he would be replacing his pre-evolved form. His dark eyes were intimidating and it was obvious that he was incredibly strong.
"Wyvrech..."
Wyvreon hissed slightly at the Jade showing that he was more aggressive than the tiny eevee. Tori smiled snarkly and then turned her gaze to Madison
"My turn to move. DRAKE RETURN THE FAVOR AND USE DRAGONBREATH!"
Drake nodded his and took off running while charging up his dragonbreath. and then firing a large dragonbreath at Jade.
